Our vision is a nation where the freedom of workers to organize unions and bargain collectively with employers is guaranteed and promoted. http://americanrightsatwork.org
Right now, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is engaged in a major campaign to block reforms that would aid struggling Americans and help fix our economy. Their goals? Sink health insurance reform, fight tooth and nail against any real solutions to the climate crisis, stop needed fixes to our labor laws, and make sure bailed-out banks can keep paying out billions in bonuses without any real accountability. But this is just a warm-up. According to The Washington Post, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is “gearing up to play a major role in this year’s midterm elections on a scale to rival the nation’s two main political parties,” spending at least $50 million on races around the country. You can help us build the movement to make sure our leaders ignore the Chamber’s out-of-touch campaigns. Add your name to our pledge today! The U.S. Chamber of Commerce was caught red-handed trying to raise $50,000 to hire a “respected economist” to “study” (read: attack) health care reform. They fight to block labor law reform every day – not just the Employee Free Choice Act, but sick days for swine flu. Their leaders think climate change is fake. They even support defense contractors over rape victims. Enough is enough! Tweet to add your name to our “Not My Chamber” petition. Then, join our #NotMyChamber flash mob by sending as many #NotMyChamber tweets as possible. The flash mob will go on as long as the #NotMyChamber tweets continue. re: @araw’s “twitter flash mob.” Are we to be surprised that folks who support coercion in union organizing don’t support us? #efcafail Posted 2009-11-20 15:40:45 +0000
