Conversations I’ve held with service members make clear that, while the military remains a traditional culture, that tradition no longer requires banning open service by gays. There will undoubtedly be some teething pains, but I have no doubt our leadership can handle it.

U.S. Senator Mark Udall from Colorado is a champion of equality and national security. As a respected member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Udall is in a unique position to help end the logjam on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
Senator Udall, please implore President Obama to take the advice of former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair, General John Shalikashvili to take on Don’t Ask Don’t Tell for the sake of equality and our country’s military readiness.
The evidence shows that the policy is harmful and that repealing it would be helpful to our national security: http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2009/06/dont_ask_dont_tell.html
Please help Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach (in the video below) and the hundreds more who will be expelled this year at the expense of our national security.
