UPDATE 7/24 Netroots Nation claims it costs too much to live stream all the panels. So why not crowdsource? iPhone/Ustream allow for free mobile streaming. 10:30 PT/1:30 ET: @jeffrae has volunteered to live stream Social Media panel: http://bit.ly/bEUWDd If you’re at NN10, have an iPhone, and are attending a panel without a camera (in Miranda rooms 6, 7, or 8) please stream & contact me. Thanks! Please retweet and help me — a student in DC — and many others learn, grow, and become a part of our nation’s progressive movement. Thanks so much! P.S. If you’re in Vegas and planning to attend any of the panels listed below, please consider volunteering your phone to live stream (via iPhone/Ustream) to allow the world to watch. Please DM me if you can! Dear Netroots Nation, Many of us who aren’t in Vegas this week for Netroots Nation are absent because we cannot afford to attend. A few days ago, I was thrilled to read that Netroots would live stream some of its sessions. I downloaded the conference schedule, and eagerly put together a list of 14 panels to “attend.” But when I went to watch my first session, “Email Engagement: Writing Great Action Emails,” it hit me: only some of your sessions are being live streamed. No big deal, right? That’s what I thought until I realized that only 1 of the 14 sessions I’d written down is scheduled to be live streamed. Please live stream the panels taking place in the following rooms: Miranda 6, Miranda 7, and Miranda 8. Thanks! -David None of these panels are scheduled to be live streamed or archived: Online Grassroots Fundraising for Candidates, Causes and Concerned Citizens Email Engagement: Writing Great Action Emails Muckraking 101: Online Investigative Tools Online Advertising for Progressive Causes and Campaigns Mobilizing Latin@s Against Hate Speech: A Basta Dobbs Case Study Running Start: Five Things You Must Do Before You Tell the World about Your Campaign Oppo Research At Home: Learn how to conduct and publicize opposition research about local politicians and media figures. Updated response – we are streaming all keynotes and 60 panels this year. Watch at: http://bit.ly/aqcVGk #nn10 Posted 2010-07-23 04:17:07 UTC
We do as many as we can afford, hiring video crews and streaming panels is not cheap. #nn10 Posted 2010-07-23 03:32:14 UTC
