Special Olympics has been partnering with the US Department of Education and other federal Departments to implement a number of high impact programs that support people with intellectual disabilities over the last several years.
The House Appropriations CR Bill for 2011 is now pending in the US House of Representatives and would slash funding for these on-going and critical health and education initiatives that support people with intellectual disabilities. If you support our programming efforts for people with intellectual disabilities, please RT our petition AND contact your representatives in the US Senate and House of Representatives. Let them know you don’t want them to support the House Appropriations CR Bill for 2011 that would cut funding to Special Olympics and many other critical programs. And share this message with others asking them to do the same.
You can tweet @ your local member of Congress to urge them NOT TO SUPPORT the CR Bill for 2011 by locating them here: http://tweetcongress.org/members/
Thank you for your consideration and please act quickly. An important vote may happen on Thursday February 17.
Our Athletes will be grateful for your support.
