We petition you to re-legalize the personal use and cultivation of marijuana and end a harmful and unpopular prohibition. We propose a yearly government marijuana users license/tax of $150 per year for recreational users and $12 per year for medical users. This tax should allow people to legally use marijuana and cultivate up to 12 marijuana plants.

That revenue could be dispersed between city, county, state and federal government. That money is needed to finance public medicine, public education and public transportation, etc… The government would also have additional revenue from the businesses and jobs legalizing marijuana would create. We believe that a great deal of the violence, gangs, corruption and inflation that is occurring in our society is caused by marijuana prohibition and the war on drugs. The government should no longer be wasting lives and $$$ in dangerous and futile attempts at enforcing a harmful and unpopular prohibition.

Just like most people drink responsibly without being problem alcoholics, most people who use marijuana do so responsibly. If they don’t then they loose their license and they go to jail if they continue to be problem users. The government should also apply this licensing principle to alcohol and other drugs too.

This would solve a lot of problems and turn a harmful and unpopular situation into a beneficial winner for all.

We petition you to direct your efforts and resources to make marijuana legalization for personal use happen.

We also want to see industrial hemp production re-legalized. It is ridiculous
not to.
