On Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, TIME magazine writer Tim Padgett wrote an article examining how the recent tragedy at FAMU has stirred racial memories. In the article, Padgett goes on to claim that “It’s a problem shared by other historically black colleges, and many African–American leaders and scholars say it goes back as far as the era of slavery.” This careless, and racist language fails to account for the number of hazing cases that have occurred on the campuses of Predominately White Colleges.
