Jeff Huber, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Google, is actively promoting the petition Google set up to oppose the internet censorship bills the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) using his Google+ account.
Huber is also a member of the Board of Directors of the top video game company Electronic Arts (EA). EA has so far refused to publicly oppose internet censorship despite over 135,000 fans signing a petition calling on the company to do so started by a fan of EA games on Change.org. While Google has done great work as a company to help increase awareness about the threats these bills pose, EA has chosen to remain silent – even while it is a member of an industry association that is heavily funding the push in Congress to pass SOPA and PIPA.
As a Board member, Huber has enormous power to influence EA and help protect internet freedom. Let’s ask Huber to sign the petition to EA and ask the company to join him in publicly opposing SOPA and PIPA!
