Student loan debt has reached unmanageable, astronomic proportions. The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys predict that student debt represents the next “debt bomb” on the horizon. Let’s address this problem BEFORE it’s too late, rather than having to pick up the pieces of an economy in shambles. Whether you personally support H.R. 4170 is not relevant – what is relevant is that our leaders in Washington acknowledge that a problem exists and work together to solve it. H.R. 4170 is the starting point from which this conversation should be held. Therefore, I urge you to please hold hearings on H.R. 4170 as soon as possible and then allow your members to mark-up, vote and send it to the House floor.
