You don’t know Latisha but she suffers from asthma and neither she nor her brother Jonathan can sleep at night because of nightmares. They dream about the day their brother Joshua died in a drive-by shooting. Latisha, Jonathan, and countless other Bayview Hunters Point youth need quality health care services linked to trauma support.
BCHC and the CWC developed a plan to provide these critical health and wellness services to help keep the children of Bayview Hunters Point healthy and safe. The plan includes a state of the art facility in the community that is close to public transit and its services will focus on youth and their needs.
I am lending my voice to support this new innovative center where families can receive comprehensive care and that focuses on healing and wellness. I believe the current site at 3450 Third Street is not only appropriate but well-suited to the project. The BCHC and CWC engaged in a number of strategies to gauge the safeness of the site and is committed to ensuring that their space meets environmental and health standards, including commissioning the SF Health Department to assess any environmental issues and determine any possible mitigation strategies if identified.
I urge you to support the parents, teens, and children of Bayview Hunters Point by supporting this new facility. This is an opportunity to with a new and innovative approach to care that can contribute to healing a broken community’s children. The children of Bayview Hunters Point have waited long enough – Move Change Forward by supporting the location of the new Bayview Child Health Center and Children’s Wellness Center at 3450 Third Street.
Thank you…
