Bread for the City has DC’s largest food pantry – and with the help of hundreds of volunteers, our new Glean for the City program is recovering tons of fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste on farms in our region. Fresh produce that instead helps feed some of our poorest neighbors.
This program is now third place in the 50 States for Good contest run by Tom’s of Maine. If everyone in our community votes every day this week, we’ll win $20,000 that will sustain this great program into the years ahead.
You can help with just a few clicks a day. Here’s what to do:
1) Click here to go to the contest: http://bit.ly/u899W
2) VOTE. (Shortcut tip: Hit Ctrl-F and type ‘bread’ to immediately find our entry.)
3) Make a note to vote every day this week – the contest ends on October 30th!
