We, the undersigned, believe that prominent Jewish institutions have no place doing business with corrupt enterprises. Whereas 5WPR is known to have impersonated critics of its clients in order to harm those critics’ reputations and undermine their criticism, and furthermore, in light of the recent controversy surrounding the company’s labor practices, we call on Birthright Israel to reconsider its professional relationship with 5WPR.
As a significant player in the global Jewish community, Birthright Israel helps shape the identities of 10,000 young Jewish men and women annually. Hiring 5WPR not only sends to the wrong message to Jewish youth, it sends the wrong message to the entire Jewish community and to the non-Jewish public as well.
We call on Birthright Israel to fire 5WPR.
