Volem poder traduir Twitter al català.

Twitter ha permès que els usuaris tradueixin la seva web a l’espanyol, el francès, l’alemany i l’italià. Més tard s’ha obert a l’holandès, el portuguès, l’indonesi, el coreà, el rus, el malai, el filipí, l’hindi, el xinès tradicional, el xinès simplificat i el turc, i ja s’han anunciat el suec, el noruec, el danès, el finlandès, el polonès i l’hongarès (els quatre primers, amb menys parlants que el català) mentre el català segueix pendent, malgrat les promeses de @dickc, conseller delegat de Twitter.

Aquesta petició registra la vostra adhesió i envia un tuit vostre a Biz Stone, Jack Dorsey i Dick Costolo (màxims responsables de Twitter) amb el text suggerit que veieu a dalt, i que inclou el hashtag #twitterencatala.

A més de signar la petició, també podeu proposar el català mitjançant el formulari oficial de Twitter, però heu de tenir en compte que aquest només arriba als responsables de localització, que han demostrat ser hostils a la versió en català. En canvi, la nostra campanya s’adreça directament al president i el conseller delegat de l’empresa, més sensibles a les campanyes públiques de pressió i, suposadament, amb capacitat per imposar-se als seus subordinats.

Aclareixo que podeu participar en aquesta campanya tantes vegades com vulgueu. Només es comptabilitzarà la vostra primera participació, però el tuit de reclamació s’enviarà cada cop als destinataris.

We want to be able to translate Twitter into Catalan.

Twitter has allowed users to translate its interface into Spanish, French, German and Italian. Later it was opened to Dutch, Portuguese, Indonesian, Korean, Russian, Malay, Tagalog, Hindi, simplified and traditional Chinese, and Turkish and translations have been announced for Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish and Hungarian (the first four of which have fewer speakers than Catalan). There is still no word about Catalan though, despite the promises of @dickc, Twitter’s CEO.

Sign this petition to ask for Twitter in Catalan and to send your tweet to Biz Stone, Jack Dorsey and Dick Costolo (Twitter’s head honchos) with the suggested text that you can see above.

In addition to signing the petition, you can also propose that Twitter be translated into Catalan using Twitter’s official petition form but you should keep in mind that this only gets to those responsible for localization, who have already demonstrated that they are openly hostile to a Catalan version. In contrast, our campaign is expressly directed to the company’s president, founders, and CEO, who may be more sensitive to public pressure and, who theoretically have the power to impose their will.

Keep in mind that you can participate as many times as you want. Your vote in the petition is only counted once, but your tweet demands will be sent each time you vote to Biz, Jack, and Dick.
