Rep. John Campbell just pushed an amendment through the House Financial Services Committee exempting used car dealers from consumer financial protections.
Campbell is selling out to special-interest contributors. He has received over $170,000 in contributions from auto-dealers while in office, received between $600,000 and $6,000,000 in rent last year from auto-dealers, and has already acknowledged that he has a conflict of interest on the issue.
Auto-dealers routinely engage in predatory financial practices; the industry must not be exempted from consumer protections.
Help us shame John Campbell for being a tool of special interests. Together, we can stop his proposal from becoming law — and make the case for fundamental campaign finance reform that replaces special-interest-financed elections with citizen-funded elections. Please sign out petition today!
